At any given time, our Restoration Team works on several projects simultaneously. For historical and archival purposes, our HIW photographer diligently takes pictures during the restoration and documents the various processes each machine is being put through. We have compiled the photos in a photo gallery for each machine. We hope you enjoy them.

Located in Watertown, New York, Car-Freshner Corporation is the world famous company that supplies those "Little Trees" - sold by the millions around the world. Howard Iron Works was approached by the company to rebuild one of their first printing machines. There was a great amount of sentimental value attached to the Chandler & Price platen press, and although it had seen better days, the ownership really wanted to bring it back and showcase it for visitors to their head office in Watertown.
After a complete tear-down, the technicians at HIW got to work. The result is a piece of history reborn and possibly even better than when it left Cleveland in 1928.
Howard Iron Works has a complete restoration facility specifically equipped for the restoration of antique machinery. Our services are available to immaculately bring back any type of machine to its former glory. In fact, with over 200 antique printing presses on hand, there is always an opportunity to also supply the machine too.
Featured here is the restoration of the 1928 Chandler & Price Platen Press.
